Mou Boots

Mou boots have always been one of my top 3 ‘ugg’ style boots; to me they are the luxury version of the Ugg boot. These boots are designed for comfort and that is exactly what they do, along with being ethical and eco-friendly during production (look good and feel good boots). Designs vary from the traditional style Ugg, to more statement boots, with different materials being used to create that luxurious style. On top of the luxury, these boots are popular amongst the A-list stars and other lesser celebs, such as Carmeron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow, Emma Watson and Charlotte Church and a Saturdays.
                     Blizzard - £275 (calfskin)            Goatskin Boots - £280
                                                                 (These are my favourite!)
Eskimo - £154 - Sand
Eskimo - £154 - Polka Dots/Violet Flowers
(this style comes in different designs and colours)
Calfskin Baby Booties - £25
(These are the cutest boots I have seen)

The Man Ugg! Yes or No?

I’ve never really been exposed to men wearing Uggs except for the odd celebrity photograph in gossip magazines, until now. Walking into my block of flats I bumped into the boys that live below, each wearing their own man Uggs. This may seem like an OTT reaction for something that has been about for years, but for me to finally become face-to-face with the man Ugg was rather shocking and to be honest I can’t make my mind up. Something about them didn’t feel right. Maybe it was that they were all sporting the Ugg boot. Maybe it just felt to ‘try hard’, making a fashion statement when one really wasn’t necessary. Or just the overall fact that these were normal boys and only the select few with celebrity status can wear such a boot.

Looking through the magazines of celebrities, such as Orlando Bloom and Justin Timberlake I can possibly accept this fashion style, after all there hot enough to pull it off. Yet the image of Ben Affleck teaming his Ugg boots with his suit is a big fat NO! So again my mind isn’t made up, some men yes the Ugg looks like a natural choice, where others just need to stay far away (Ronnie Wood for example.....O dear).

I will however say, in my eyes these men are brave to try such a female associated boot and if they can look good doing so, then go for it. Others may disagree, with some friends of mine loving a man in an Ugg with others finding it one of the biggest turn offs out there (they believe it emasculates a man......maybe a little harsh). Either way I think the man Ugg is something you either love or hate and I feel that it is here to stay with a high chance of gaining popularity.

Airbrush Designs

To airbrush your beloved Ugg boots or not to airbrush? Like getting a tattoo, this decision is a permanent one and for some could be a long thought out choice, after all it’s for the rest of your Ugg boots life. For some these designs are a creative dream, adding your own individual personality and uniqueness to your boots. No longer will your Ugg blend into the background, but stand out from the crowed with these intricate detailed designs.

The Scent of Art is a company which provides a service to your Ugg boots, painting them with a high quality skill to achieve a rather fantastic artist image. Designs can be customised by yourselves or you can choose from a variety of existing designs for women’s, men’s, kids and babies boots.

Ugg Australia boots can be bought online and then painted or you can send your own boots in, which would be a cheaper option, but with delivery charges maybe not. For your Ugg boots to be customised you will have to part with $95 - $155 for men/women and $45 - $55 for kids/babies. For UK customers these painted boots are now available at Gemdesignz.co.uk with prices ranging from £60 – £210, however these boots are already painted.

However if this seems to much of a permanent solution to decorating your boots, why not try reatchable boot  accessories! www.boothugs.co.uk

Boot Jewellery

With boot designs becoming more adventures, accessorizing your boots may become the new fad for the boot future. Jewellery designs, accessories and even Swarovski crystals are available to dress up your boots for a unique look.

Majority of jewellery accessories are only available within the US, with those that do ship to the UK adding extra cost.

Boot Hugs is originally a US based retailer, yet now have moved to the UK making the purchase of boot accessories cheaper with free UK delivery and affordable shipping prices to Europe. The products range from feathers, pom poms, beads and charms, each one adjustable to wear at the bottom, middle or top of your boots and are easily removable when needed. Average price is £20, with free UK delivery and a small extra shipping cost for EU customers. Visit www.boothugs.co.uk for more information and product views.

Hugitz boot accessories are US designers, who have created a range of jewellery accessories for Ugg Boots. The designs include beads, pendants and Swarovski crystals. These designs may not be for everyone, as they are easily imaginable on a child’s or young teenage girl’s boots. Prices range from $30 - $40 and are only available within the US and Canada.

These Jewellery designs are from a US retailer, who uses different beading from gold beads to coloured glass beads, which can be added to your boots and removed when needed. Prices range from $65 - $75 and with shipping to UK you can add up to an extra $25, not the best price tag.

Within the UK numerous designers are appearing claiming to be able to glam up your boots with Swarovski crystals. One UK company, Diamontes apply the Swarovski crystals on your boots, either with their existing designs or your own unique designs. These creations add a glam factor to your boot, which either people will admire or in some cases could be considered tacky – only of course depending on the individual and design. To get the crystals on your boots will set you back £30 - £40 for their own simple designs and £40 + for extra crystals and for your own design.

With most boot jewellery and accessories only available in the US and if shipping to the UK is possible, your purse will most definitely feel the pinch. At www.boothugs.co.uk we provide a solution, with boot accessories priced at an affordable £20 with free UK shipping, providing you with a way to create your own unique boots.

CHUGG

Ok I know, a little late on the update, Jimmy Choo and Ugg Australia collaboration was announced in January. With little released and designs kept hush, I held on praying something, just a tiny inkling would have been let known. But no this was not the case, so I cannot resist anymore and I have to gossip about this unusual or even perfect pairing.

Within the Ugg market we are now seeing brands such as Koolburra, Emu’s and From Love with Australia, catching our attention with their bold, edgy designs, adding that something extra, in some cases a heel. Fitflop boots got in on the action with designer Anna Sui, to create a fantastic boot. Yet Ugg plod along with their traditional designs, nothing wrong with that, but a bit of change wouldn’t hurt. Enter Jimmy Choo!

Jimmy Choo is renowned for his designs, from edgy out there designs, to some sophisticated styles suited to the less adventurous. Even with so much recognition from us ‘normal people’ to those that grace the red carpet, collaborations have begun to take place.

Jimmy Choo and Hunters became a sought-after item, after Glastonbury’s fashion conscious paraded around in mud wearing the signature crocodile print wellies. Then the H&M collaboration, which I dare say I found unusual at first, nonetheless the buzz was incredible, with insane people queuing and camping out to get their feet in those shoes.

I am still puzzled over the designs that will be created for Ugg and there is the chance that they might not be everyone’s cup of tea. All we know so far is that there will be 5 new styles in a variety of colours, available in October. The price range however is the only down side to this collaboration, from styles costing £495 - £695. Of course the boots will only be available in certain stores, Jimmy Choo stores, Ugg Australia stores, prestigious department stores that sell Jimmy Choo and online. So I leave you wondering with what possible designs and creations the new ‘CHUGG’ will bring to the traditional Ugg.

Boot Hugs UK

With the British summer scheduled to be arriving at the end of the month, anticipation to wear new seasons sandals and flip-flops is increasing, yet the weather of course has other ideas. Cold, freezing and even the appearance of snow showers has made the idea of summer seem a far off dream. So, many of us are turning to our wardrobe and grabbing our old reliable Ugg’s, or Emu’s, Koolburra’s, Love from Australia boots, or any other styles that float your boat. I will never deny the comfort and warmth provided from our boots, but mine appear tired, in need of refreshment, a makeover......after all spring is upon us, so why not give your boots a deserved spring clean!

With accessories from Boot Hugs UK - feathers, fringing, ribbons, pompoms, hanging charms and beads, plus many more, can be added to any Ugg style boot to give them a new, revamped look.

With new style boots from Koolburra and Love from Australia, being created with edgy, innovative ideas, these designs have pushed boundaries of the traditional Ugg boots styles, but at a costs ranging from £150.00 to a staggering £400.00+, with average prices ranging from £225.00 - £350.00. I imagine for a majority of us this would cause a dent in our bank balance, but with Boot Hugs accessories costing only £20.00 compared to £200.00 there is a more affordable solution. Even better is that these accessories can be removed (unlike Koolburra and Love from Australia designs), giving you the option of which style you will be wearing for the day. The accessories can be customised to wear at the top, middle or bottom of your boots, giving you multiple styles with only one pair of boots needed.

So what are you waiting for......get your Boot Hugs now by visiting http://www.boothugs.co.uk/
